Changelog
What changed in each release of Gildyard, newest first.
-
The yard as warehouses, with health and quests
- The demo yard at /demo draws each resource group as a warehouse, and every resource that does a job as a piece in it.
- Zoomed out, warehouses wear roofs; zoom in and they open on their pieces.
- Key vaults, Cosmos DB, Kubernetes, Container Apps, Azure OpenAI, Application Insights, App Service plans and virtual networks have pieces of their own, each with a plate saying what it is.
- Each warehouse is labelled with what it cost so far this month and a word for each sign. Zoomed out, each subscription shows what its resource groups cost.
- A bar counts what is failing, near capacity, idle or stopped, and the money idle and still billed this month so far.
- Move around by dragging, with the wheel or a pinch, with + and −, or with WASD and the arrow keys. See it all frames the whole yard.
- Nothing in the yard moves on its own now, so Hold still is gone, and so is turning the view a quarter at a time.
- On a wider screen, a minimap shows where you are, and Arrange lets you move warehouses. This browser remembers where until you choose Tidy.
- Filters by subscription, resource group and type, and a search by name or type, fade what doesn't match and frame what does. Enter steps through the matches.
- A piece, a warehouse or a subscription opens a panel with two tabs: Overview, and Needs attention.
- Health, in the bar, scores the yard out of 100 and says what lowers it. Quests say what would raise it; the ones about money show what their resources cost so far this month.
- Budgets and cost anomalies aren't counted yet, and quests come from what the yard sees, not from Azure Advisor.
- With the keyboard, Tab to the yard, then Tab again to the list of every resource: the arrow keys walk through it, and each resource you reach opens its panel.
- On a phone, the demo opens on the warehouse with the most kinds of signs, Find sits behind a button, and there is no minimap or Arrange.
- The landing page's yard is a still picture: the whole yard, or on a phone the warehouse with the most kinds of signs. Pick a piece in the demo yard instead.
- The documentation says what a TV link shows: the whole yard, still, with a word for every sign, drawn again each time Gildyard reads it.
- The privacy page says your browser keeps where you moved warehouses: on the demo until you choose Tidy, and in the app until you sign out.
-
The new yard, dark by default
- The demo yard is redrawn and fills the window at /demo. Drag it, zoom with the wheel or a pinch, turn it a quarter at a time, or hold it still.
- Pick a piece, on the demo or the landing page, to read what it is doing: errors in the last hour, days idle, this month's cost so far, and what to check. The keyboard works too: Tab to the yard, then the arrow keys and Enter.
- On a small screen, the landing page's yard keeps the lots that need attention most: money at risk first, then what fails.
- The demo's tour, legend and state filters are gone. Pick a piece to read it; the documentation explains each state.
- The site is dark for everyone, even when your system is set to light: a deeper graphite, a warmer gold and a grid under the yard. The sun button in the header switches to the light theme, Day, and this browser remembers your choice.
- This changelog, linked from the footer and the documentation.
- The guide to connecting Azure names the app's buttons: Connect Azure, Check access, and Use the template or the commands.
- The privacy page lists what the website keeps in your browser now: whether you chose Day, and where you had scrolled while the tab is open.
-
Gildyard on the legal pages
- The privacy page, the terms and the data processing agreement name Gildyard as the provider.
-
Easier reading
- Wider text on the documentation and legal pages.
- The documentation's tab titles name Gildyard once.
- The two Azure commands on /docs/connect break where you can read them.
- Nothing overflows on a 320 px phone.
-
